Atletic boost for lazy stocks

The FashionUnited Top 100 Index closed Tuesday at 1246.24, down by 3.89 and at the wait to take on the sprint of the athletic apparel companies, which became the best performers yesterday thanks to Nike and Lululemon Athletica.
 
According to the last update on the Bedford Report, athletic clothing retailers have had a surprisingly strong September as strong earnings reports and the upcoming Olympics are expected to drive growth the rest of the year. FASHION AS ART: Otago University professor Hilary Radner, left, and Dr Natalie Smith with some of the 70-odd items in their Nom*d: The Art of Fashion exhibition.

New Zealand’s first and only exhibition of Nom*d garments and memorabilia from the personal collection of its creative director, Margarita Robertson, opens in Gore tonight.

Nom*d: The Art of Fashion is the fruition of a two-year research project by Natalie Smith, who did her PhD thesis on the relationship between art and fashion since 1980 and the emergence of conceptual couture.
