The coat worn by Kate Middleton in Liverpool yesterday became a hit with shoppers in the hours that followed.
The Hobbs Unlimited Celeste wool coat, which Kate donned to keep warm on Merseyside, was soon doing good business on the company’s website.

Fashion expert Gemma Cartwright, of OSOYOU.com, said: “It’s interesting that when I looked this morning it was available in two sizes, and has sold out now.
“The price was originally £369 (€440), and people are suggesting that is what she paid for it, but when they were available earlier today, the price had been reduced to £182.”
The coat, which flares from the hips, has a belt at the waist.
Royal officials said the coat was burgundy in colour, though the fashion community favoured chestnut brown.
Ms Cartwright said: “Everything she wears is pitch-perfect on these occasions, classic and appropriate, but also showing her interest in fashion, and knowledge of what works for her body.
“She is very lucky that most things suit her, and she chooses things that flatter her figure.
“She often goes for A-line skirts, and the coat is A-line too, flaring out from the waist in an A shape.”
Ms Middleton also wore a black, polo-neck dress from high-street store Oasis, a royal aide confirmed.
The knee-length dress was nipped in at the waist with a black belt.
The profile of Ms Middleton is being raised considerably and yesterday it was also announced that she would join Queen Elizabeth on two engagements next month.
She will accompany the queen and the Duchess of Cornwall to Fortnum and Mason in central London on March 1.
During the visit, the queen will unveil a plaque to commemorate the regeneration of Piccadilly.
Kate will also join the queen during a visit to Leicester on March 8.
Prince Philip is also expected to accompany the queen on the trip, which is one of a series of Diamond Jubilee visits around the UK.
Ms Middleton carried out her first solo public engagement last week when she visited the National Portrait Gallery, in central London, for a preview of a Lucian Freud show that gives a comprehensive overview of the late artist’s work.
Her husband, Prince William, is in the Falkland Islands as part of his work as an RAF search and rescue co-pilot.

THE HYPE: What could be better than the sweet, delicious smell of chocolate in the bath?
THE TEST: See if the Chocomania collection made us feel a little sweeter this time of year.
THE VERDICT: One whiff of these sweet smelling chocolate products and you will be in love. The chocolate aroma is rich and comforting in all of the products. For the bath, you have the shower gel and body scrub to give you a delicious smelling cream. The scrub is one of our favourite products from The Body Shop in some time. The thick brown scrub gives you a deep clean that you can feel, while filling the bathroom with the scent of brownie batter.

Louis Vuitton: Is this brand protection or control freakery?

New year; new fashion spat. And it’s a big one.
Louis Vuitton – the mother of all luxury brands – celebrated the dawn of 2012 by ding-dong-merrily initiating a lawsuit. This was aimed not, as one might imagine, at one of the many counterfeiters that sell copies of its monogrammed bags, but at Warner Bros Entertainment Inc.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Vuitton alleges that Warner Bros ignored its pleas to cut the airport scene featuring fake bags in The Hangover Part II where Zach Galifianakis travels with luggage stamped with “LVM” and warns his co-star: “Careful, that’s Louis Vuitton”, from the DVD release of the film. Uncommon in the US, but incredibly popular in Asia, paper masks are perfect for the woman on the go. According to WWD, Masqueology products compare favorably to facials that often top $100. Masqueology’s masks come in sets of three for $24 to $36 and tackle a specific skin care concern each with a spotlighted ingredient to address that concern.
“I think the reason we were most excited about it was because it was a line dedicated solely to masks,” said Carolyn Bojanowski, director of skin care merchandising for Sephora. “We felt that we didn’t just want it to be another sku in an overly proliferated line. Masqueology was bringing technology and ingredients from Korea in a line solely dedicated to paper masks. It was ti
