The sweet and feminine style of Zooey Deschanel

Zooey Deschanel acts, sings, plays the piano and the ukulele, and lends her voice to cartoon characters too. One would believe that someone so versatile would have an eclectic style of dressing but surprise, surprise- you’ll rarely find Zooey in anything other than feminine dresses and separates. Nonetheless she manages to look so different yet perfect each time she steps onto the red carpet or for her gigs. Her blue eyes and bangs are part of her unique identity.
Zooey has a very vintage-inspired fashion style. Most of her dresses are cinched at the waist. One of her favorite designs seems to be the white dress with a contrasting black belt. She has been spotted wearing different variations of same. An instance of such an outfit is the Milly dress shown in the image alongside.
It goes without saying that Zooey loves to look ladylike. Her dresses characteristically have ruffles, lace, bows, floral prints or some such feminine detailing. In an interview with shopping magazine Lucky, she confesses a weakness for colorful, Alice-in-Wonderland-esque clothing. I feel like shed look perfect in the black Theory Crunch ruffle dress featured alongside.
Zooey also has a penchant for wearing tights. She loves shopping and has an amazing range of bags and unusual pumps. Put on a navy blue shawl collar Kay Unger dress. Accessorize with a black bow belt, pumps and bag and you have the archetypal Zooey look.
Zooey loves make-up, however she never overdoes it. She likes different shades of red lipstick and has often put on false eyelashes to bring out the beauty of her blue eyes.
So if you want to adopt Zooey’s sweet and feminine style of dressing all you need to remember is to get yourself lots and lots of dresses and tights. Accessorize them with complementing or contrasting pumps and purses. If you want to go a step further and look like Zooey, you would need to get a hairstyle with bangs and highlight your eyes with a thick coat of liner on the upper lids. To get the full effect you could even try out false lashes!
