Aug 16, 2013   //   by Gabriella Conybeare   //   No Comments

I love braiding my hair in as many ways as I can, and I recently found a blogger that loves to do the same. Meet Abby, the brilliant blogger in charge of Twist Me Pretty. Abby is an artist of the hair, and we can learn a thing or two on how to nail a perfectly plaited updo!

Throughout her blog, Abby showcases the various types of braids she has perfected, as well as outfits she has worn and loved. She also talks about being a Mormon and features songs on her blog. I tried to do the celtic knot on my hair the other night, but failed because my hair is too short and I have too many layers, so I wasn’t able to grasp all my hair into one knot. Check out all the beautiful braids Abby has created!

This is the Celtic knot that I tried the other night and failed. Isnt it beautiful, though?

Aug 15, 2013   //   by Abbey Strutt   //   No Comments

TX Maxx, the discount retailer, is to open a store on Long Acre in London’s Covent Garden.

The new retail venture is the former Next space, and is likely to raise eyebrows amongst the Covent Garden committee who are trying to raise the profile of the shopping district by attracting more luxury brands and high-end consumers.

Next is choosing to exit the store to focus on its other units in central London.

Hanon x Onitsuka Tiger : Teaser

Aug 12, 2013   //   by Gabriella Conybeare   //   No Comments

With seemingly every sneaker spot in the world wanting their own ASICS collaboration, it makes sense to see UK sneaker spot Hanon link up with the Japanese brand, although perhaps not in the way one would expect. Today, Hanon leaked the teaser image seen below, giving a glimpse of the rear portion of a pair of Onitsuka Tigers the forefather of the ASICS brand as we now know it with their name emblazoned in grey suede. From the image, it can be seen that the shoes feature blue, purple, red, and grey on a suede upper. The only other details to be gleaned from said image is that the shoes will release some time this month. Make sure to keep it locked with Sneakerfiles.com, as well keep you updated as more details become available.

Fall 2013 Florals

Aug 11, 2013   //   by Rory Tunbridge   //   No Comments

In a deeper tone than last summers floral pieces, this fall petals are popping up in black, dark purple, hunter green and, sometimes, an unexpected pop of bright. Work a grunge meets glam-rock look with floral items to match every mood and budget. When looking for inspiration, take cues from style stars like Miranda Kerr, Diane Kruger and fashion editor Julia Sarr-Jamois. Or when in doubt, classic 90s films like Empire Records and Reality Bites should be all that you need to find high fashion in your florals.

1. Blouse, $49.90, Zara.

2. Phone case, approximately $60, Ted Baker London.

3. Pants, $670, Paul & Joe.

4. Dress, $1,795, Lela Rose.

5. Necklace, $202, J.Crew.

6. Handbag, $510, Sophie Hulme.

7. Loafers, $430, Acne.

Real Style Tries Manna Kadar Cosmetics

Aug 10, 2013   //   by Gabriella Conybeare   //   No Comments

After opening beauty boutiques and salons, young savvy and, of course, stylish Manna Kadar developed her own collection of makeup with al her own values. With plans to expand into stores shortly, Real Style had the change to try this prestigious makeup brand before the masses learn of their secret.

What did we think? We loved the water-based Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion, which comes in a petite bottle about the size of an average nail polish. Its small size makes this face cream a great pick to pack into our purse for a night out. The Shimmer Lotion left our skin glowing, looking refreshing, and with just the slightest hint of sparkle to prompt compliments from friends. However, it’s not overwhelming to look at, and we felt comfortable wearing a bit of it during an average weekday as well. I
