It may be close, but the sun hasn’t set on summer yet.  And while we’re soaking up every little last bit of warm weather, our hair color might be soaking it up too – and not in a good way.  Miguel Angarita, Mizu New York colorist and educator specializing in balayage/hair painting and the ever-popular “ombre effect,” offers these tips to prevent fading and keeping you from an extra trip to the salon.

Blondes – Blondes have it easy during the summertime because the sun adds some natural highlights.  Absorbing the sun’s natural rays helps the highlighted areas of your hair take on a real brightness, giving you that “sun-kissed hair” everyone talks about. Make sure you still use something with UV protection before you step outside to keep your color vibrant and not brassy. Mig Full Article…

Brunello Cucinelli market value doubles since IPO

Italian luxury knitwear brand Brunello Cucinelli SpA has more than doubled in value since its initial public offering in Milan last April, giving Cucinelli a net worth of at least 1 billion dollars, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

“From the beginning we hoped for a positive and gentle listing,” Cucinelli said in a phone interview with Bloomberg from Milan. “Investors appreciate our quality, our positioning in the absolute luxury market and our Italian heritage.”

In the same way thinks William Hutchings, an analyst for Goldman Sachs quoted by ‘Esquire’, explained the success behind this landmark, noting that there are grounds for these figures: “There are only a few luxury brands that can justify Cucinelli’s price positioning,” noted.

“Design, history, quality, manufacturing, and provenance all support its price position and the company is well positioned to benefit from growing global demand for high-quality, authentic luxury products,” Hutchings added.

Brunello Cucinelli has just reported sales of 360 million dollars for the full year in 2012, up 16 percent on a year-on-year basis. It forecast Full Article…
