Levi Maestro x Vans Vault Old Skool

Dec 18, 2011   //   by Abbey Strutt   //   No Comments

My first ever shoe collaboration with Vans Vault [is] releasing [in] January 2012.

Sneaker News gave you a sneak preview of Levi Maestros Vans Vault collabo about a week ago, a video that had the shoe depicted just right so that you couldnt tell exactly what silhouette he wa holding. A week later, we have a new look at the Maestro Knows x Off the Wall teamup, and its pretty clear that the base model at work here is a Vans Old Skool 77. But Levi didnt just slap his favorite colors and/or materials on that existing silo, rather, he reworked it into a stripe-less, heel cup-less deconstructed model thats somewhere between classic California skate and a sneaker that looks like it could be at Bloomingdales.

First Look: New Makeup Range from Tom Ford Beauty

Dec 17, 2011   //   by Gabriella Conybeare   //   No Comments

Finally, I had the chance to see the new range from Tom Ford today. It is a fully comprehensive line with foundations, a primer, concealers, eye quads, liners, glosses, blush, mascara and some skin care. Later down the line there will be nail polish. I’ve got to say that I loved it..it’s beautifully edited with wearable shades, gorgeous formulas and something for everyone.   I totally fell for the Eye Color Quad in Burnished Amber that has a reddish quality to it – very exciting to wear. It is looking a little bit too pink in this picture but it’s the only one I have so you’ll have to imagine it a tone or two down and little bit more burnished. Full Article…

Prue Lewington: style editor, photographer, exhibitionist

Dec 16, 2011   //   by Rory Tunbridge   //   No Comments

Weve read a lot about self-taught blogger photographers. A good eye and an even better camera can work wonders for anyone seeking to fill their online publishing ventures with original photographic material. Scott The Sartorialist Schuman, Tommy Jak & Jil Ton and Todd The Selby Selby three great cases in point. But multitasking mainstream fashion editors or journalists? Not quite so common (and as frockwriter can attest, were not that welcome in the blogosphere. Something to do with the sentiment that weve somehow cheated our way to a profile that the grassroots blogging crew have had to build from scratch). Sydneysiders would know the name Prue Lewington from her weekend fashion musings in The Sunday Telegraph. But who knew that she could also take a decent photo? Full Article…

What outfit can look professional for the office but stylish for later?

Dec 4, 2011   //   by Gabriella Conybeare   //   No Comments

‘I have after work drink events and parties to attend over December and I don’t want to spend money on party-wear I wont wear again. I also don’t have time to go home and change.

Do have you any advice on how I can transform my work look into a party look with minimum fuss and expense?’

A Why not try a black tux style suit? This wardrobe staple will work perfectly for the office worn with a blouse and courts.

After hours slip on shimmering heels, switch your day bag to a sequin clutch and apply a stronger lippy and you’re good to go! You can get major mileage out of a versatile tux.

Try replacing your work blouse with a gold tee shirt or replace your black tux jacket with a white one for after hours. The addition of bold drop earrings or a statement necklace can really transform a black suit into party-friendly wear.
