Weve been watching Ferragamo turn into a much more celebrity friendly brand over the last few years, and recently, the Florence, Italy based brand held their resort 2011/2012 show in New York City. That says a lot about how they feel about the American market. Both Eva Mendes and Freida Pinto showed up, wearing really pretty pieces from the collection. Freida always looks lovely, but sometimes Eva overdoes it wildly this two tone soft summery dress looks really subtle and pretty on her.

Fans of Eres haute lingerie and swimwear have been bereft since the label closed all of its standalone New York stores. But the French brand is returning to New York with a new outpost opening tomorrow, one a little closer to the beach. Its new jewel-box shop on East Hamptons Main Street will stock the full collection of swim and intimates. I love the chic, laid-back atmosphere, creative director Valrie Delafosse says of the Hamptons. Its very Deauville to me. You may see more of her on Long Island now that shes opened her doors. Where? My favorite beach is Wiborg, she says.

Bespoken’s menswear collection was presented at New Yorks Fashion Week and is creating quite the stir. The pieces in this collection were inspired by the details of these soldiers attire, how they carried themselves through hardship and the natural wear of their tailored goods while working at sea, they explain. The collection includes nautical pieces like a reversible seamans jacket, a sailor shirt and fisherman knits.

New York Fashion Week started with a bang on Wednesday night in NY with an Amfar benefit ball to celebrate fashion week. And of course, a number of MAJOR we mean MAJOR dresses showed up as well as some major people. Model Karen Elson showed up in an incredible white Versace Spring 2011 strapless gown, making January Jones red Versace Globe dress practically obsolete. This white beaded fringe gown is just rad, really. Its just a reality that models often look better in runway clothes than actresses do. Former French Vogue editor turned-stylist Carine Roitfeld wore a Givenchy spring couture gown also white that rocked everyones world.
